Working with collaborator organizations, such as the National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD), the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC), and HealthHIV, The Virology Portal works to utilize new technologies to provide information, resources, and service provider training that may help improve the quality of HIV service management across the United States, and in turn may improve client outcomes. Experienced and dedicated collaborators are key to the portal’s success.

The mission of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) is to promote the individual and collective professional development of nurses involved in the delivery of healthcare to persons infected or affected by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and to promote the health and welfare of infected persons by: creating an effective network among nurses in AIDS Care; studying, researching, and exchanging information, experiences, and ideas leading to improved care for persons with HIV/AIDS infection; providing leadership to the nursing community in matters related to HIV/AIDS infection; advocating for HIV infected persons; and, promoting social awareness concerning issues related to HIV/AIDS. Inherent in these goals is the abiding commitment to the prevention of further HIV infection.

HealthHIV is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, working with organizations, communities, and professionals to advance effective prevention, care, and support for people living with, or at risk for, HIV/AIDS through education and training, technical assistance, and capacity building, advocacy, and health services research and evaluation. HealthHIV supports primary care providers treating HIV, as well as community and faith-based organizations involved in HIV prevention, care, and treatment.

The National Alliance of State & Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) represents the nation’s chief state health agency staff who have programmatic responsibility for administering HIV/AIDS healthcare, prevention, education, and supportive service programs funded by state and federal governments. NASTAD is dedicated to reducing the incidence of HIV/AIDS infection in the United States and its territories, providing comprehensive, compassionate, and high-quality care to all persons living with HIV/AIDS, and ensuring responsible public policies. NASTAD provides national leadership to achieve these goals, and to educate about and advocate for the necessary federal funding to achieve them, as well as to promote communication between state and local health departments and HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs. NASTAD supports and encourages the use of applied scientific knowledge and input from affected communities to guide the development of effective policies and programs.
